Malika Holdings Pty Ltd                         1997 – 2000

Freelance product designerfor Australian fashion company with office in New Delhi, India.

Development of product for major stores including: Myer ; Miss Shop, Fiorucci,
Myer swimwear and dress department, and Jeanswest.

• Successfully designed product for major department stores, obtaining new accounts
  in excess of 1.5 million dollars.
• Managed budgets for overseas sampling trips.
• Supervised the office in New Delhi, India, managing a staff of twenty.
• Improved the standard of production for Malika Holdings.
• Co-ordinated quality control into Melbourne.

Heroman Industries Pty Ltd            1995-1997

Product designer for Hongkong fashion knitwear company.

Development of product for major stores including : Just Jeans, Myer Miss Shop, Fiorucci, Billabong surfwear.

• Generated new business with department stores.
• Scheduled international travel arrangements for design/ buying trips.
• Travelled to Hongkong to oversee sampling and production.

Malika Holdings Pty Ltd                1992-1997

Senior Designer/ Product Designer

Responsible for the design of the fashion labels Flying Colors, Malika and Indu. Developed product for major department stores.

• Designed for three separate fashion labels, approximately 300 designs every season.
• Liaised with development buyers in major retail stores, conducting meetings to show new designs and samples.
• Successfully supervised the design team and the sampling unit in New Delhi, India.
• Provided ongoing training for all staff members on the design team and in the New Delhi office.
• Planned budgets for overseas trips.
• Supervised the production of garments in India and monitored the quality control in Australia.

Babble –On Design                         1987-1992

Sole proprietor/ designer of fashion label

• Established new fashion label ‘Babble-On.
• Successfully designed and manufactured young women’s fashion, holding retail accounts nationwide.
• Created all patterns for sampling and production.
• Participated in fashion parades including ‘Nescafe’ Fashion Design Council Parade in 1989.
• Managed the manufacture of garments in own factory with a staff of five.
• Maintained accounts and payroll.
